Breeding AKC Cavalier Puppies Raising loving and socialized puppies

About Us

The Mini Dachshund Paws Homes is a small, elegant dog standing 12 to 13 inches tall, with a well-balanced frame, expressive dark eyes, and a silky, feathered coat. Their signature floppy ears and gentle, sweet expression radiate warmth, with coat colors including Blenheim, tricolor, black-and-tan, and ruby.

Bred in England as a companion dog for royalty, their affectionate and sociable nature endures today. Gentle yet playful, dachshunds thrive on human connection, eagerly curling up on laps or joining family activities. Highly trainable and eager to please, they respond well to positive reinforcement and early socialization.

Although moderately active, they adapt effortlessly to a relaxed home life, content with short walks and indoor play. Their friendly demeanor extends to children, pets, and even strangers, making them poor watchdogs but ideal companions. Prone to heart conditions and syringomyelia, responsible breeding is essential.

Why Choose Us?

We’ve been raising Mini Long Hair Dachshund puppies as a family for a number of years and they are still our favorite breed of dog. They are so gentle (especially around children) and have wonderful personalities. They are easy to take care of and perfect for families with children or older individuals who need companionship.

What sets us apart

Health and Wellness: We prioritize the health of our dogs above all else. Each of our breeding dogs undergoes rigorous health testing, including heart and eye certifications, DNA testing for genetic conditions, and regular veterinary check-ups. Our commitment to health ensures that our puppies are not only beautiful but also have the best chance at long, healthy lives.

AKC Registration: All of our puppies are AKC registered, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of the breed. This registration provides our clients with the assurance that they are getting a purebred Mini Dachshund from a trusted source.

Comprehensive Care: From the moment our puppies are born, they receive around-the-clock care and socialization. We believe that early socialization is key to raising well-adjusted dogs, which is why we expose our puppies to a variety of sights, sounds, and experiences from a young age.

Lifelong Support: Our relationship with our clients doesn’t end when they take their puppy home. We offer lifelong support and guidance to ensure that our puppies transition smoothly into their new homes. Whether it’s advice on training, health, or general care, we are always here to help.

Breeding Practices

Potty Training Puppy Apartment

As dog lovers and owners, we believe dogs deserve the same potty option as cats and other domesticated animals (including people). Hundreds of years ago, cats and people had to go outside to potty. Our innovative society invented great devices, such as toilets or people and litter boxes for cats. These devices allow us and our pets to potty in a safe, warm, and comfortable environment.

Health Managment

Dachshunds are gentle, loving companions, but their breed predispositions require vigilant health management. Responsible breeders screen for mitral valve disease (MVD), a progressive heart condition affecting most Cavaliers by mid-life, as well as syringomyelia (SM), a neurological disorder linked to their skull structure. Other concerns include hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, eye conditions (like cataracts and retinal disorders), and ear infections due to their floppy ears. Regular vet visits, maintaining a healthy weight, and avoiding overheating (they’re sensitive to heat) are crucial.

At Mini Dachshund Paws Homes, our philosophy is simple: breed for health, temperament, and conformation to the breed standard. We believe that every dog deserves to be loved and cared for in a nurturing environment, which is why all our breeding dogs are raised as part of our family. Our dogs are not just pets; they are cherished members of our household, and we ensure that each puppy receives the same level of love and care.

Hear from Our Satisfied Owners About Their Experience with Mini Dachshund Paws Homes

I give Hailey 5 stars for her service and support throughout our process. This was our first time working with a breeder and our experience working with her was exceptional. She was patient with us and answered all of our questions. She offered us an opportunity to come to her home and visit the dogs, which we did. She made us feel very comfortable throughout the whole process. She communicated with us constantly, sent several pictures, and videos, and continued to give us updates regarding the progress of our puppy, up until the day we brought him home. We love our Blenheim boy Max.

Hailey has great communication and is very knowledgeable about Dachshunds. She sent us pictures of our puppy before we were able to meet him, which we greatly appreciated! Linda is very welcoming and encourages visits. The puppy space was clean, and they had access to the outdoors via turf. Our dog Angus (tricolor male) is the sweetest pup with a sweet & playful personality! He gets along with people and dogs of all ages and sizes. His favorite things include snuggling, going for walks, and boating/swimming. He’s the perfect addition to our family!
